Employee and child

National Service (NS) call-ups

  • NS is not a leave entitlement — employees must attend when called up. Plan ahead with the call-up schedules on the NS Portal.
  • NSmen receive Service Pay, plus Make-Up Pay for any difference from their civilian income, so they do not lose pay.
  • Make-Up Pay is generated automatically from the wages reported to CPF and paid within 10 working days of the start — no claim needed. View or amend it in the NS Portal’s Employee Payment Management. For how to pay the salary, use the NS card in the Payslip.

Childcare leave (Government-Paid)

  • Given each year until the year the child turns 7. Leave year is the calendar year unless agreed otherwise; unused days do not carry forward. Max 42 days per child.
  • NDR 2026 announced more childcare leave with full Government reimbursement — start date not yet announced.

Maternity leave (Government-Paid)
