Salary payment

The employer’s week (for counting working days)

Quick choice

One rest day a week (s36). On a 5-day week Saturday is a non-working day and Sunday the rest day (MOM). Working days exclude rest and non-working days but include public holidays.

When does the notice period end?

Does the contract state a notice period?

Last day: 14 Nov 2026(1 month, counting from 15 Oct 2026)

  • The notice period includes the day notice is given, and public holidays, rest days and non-working days (MOM).
  • Notice must be the same length for both sides. Both may agree in writing to waive it; otherwise the side not serving it pays salary in lieu (no CPF).
  • Sick leave counts towards the notice period and cannot extend it; reservist training does not count, so notice is extended.
  • With the employer’s agreement, annual leave can offset notice to bring the last day forward (that leave is then not paid out).
